Sewage treatment is a requirement of a civilised society. Small, remote and rural dwellings may use septic tanks with soak away treatment but larger population residential and work places require more advanced treatment.
The level of treatment will be determined by the final disposal of the treated water and a government permit, typically from an Environment Agency.
Final disposal may be to a river, lake or sea or in arid countries, it may be re-used as irrigation water. Further treatment may make the water suitable for fire fighting, district cooling and even boiler quality use.
A quick web search will find a bewildering range of domestic sewage treatment plants on offer with often incredible claims.
So, which to choose ?
